Write for NogPets

Know pets? Share what you know with South African pet owners. We publish advice from vets, groomers, trainers and shelters, with your name and a link to your site.

Email hello@nogpets.com with "Guest post:" and your topic in the subject.

Who we'd love to hear from

  • Vets and vet nurses
  • Groomers, walkers and pet sitters
  • Trainers and behaviourists
  • Shelters, SPCAs and rescues
  • Breeders who register with KUSA
  • Pet shops and brands, writing advice, not adverts

Topics that work

  • Seasonal care in South Africa: ticks, heat, grass seeds, fireworks
  • Grooming and coat care for a breed you know well
  • Puppies and older dogs: what owners get wrong
  • Adopting: what to expect in the first weeks
  • Costs: what pet care really costs, with your own numbers
  • Running a pet business: bookings, pricing, staff

The rules

  • Original and written by you. Not published anywhere else.
  • Practical and true. 800 to 1,500 words, plain English, real examples.
  • Advice, not an advert. Mention your business once, in your bio.
  • Medical advice from a qualified vet only, and it says so.
  • We edit for length and clarity, and send you the final version before it goes live.

What you get

  • Your name, role and business on the post
  • One link to your website in your byline
  • A post you can share with your clients
  • Your business in our free directory, if it isn't already

How to pitch

Email hello@nogpets.com: who you are, your topic in one line, three points you'd cover, and a link to your site. We reply within a week.

Questions

Do you pay for posts, or charge to publish them?

No, neither. Posts are published because they're useful to pet owners. We don't sell links and we don't trade them.

Will the link to my site be followed?

Yes, the link in your byline is a normal link. Links inside the post go only where they help the reader.

Can I write about my product or service?

Write advice owners can use whether or not they buy from you. Your business goes in your bio.

Can I post the same article on my own blog?

Please don't: it should be new. You're welcome to share a short summary that links to it.
