Samoyed grooming
A Samoyed needs a professional groom every 4 to 6 weeks, and brushing at home three or four times a week, right down to the skin. Don't shave it: the double coat keeps it cool. A full groom for a Samoyed with NogPets is from R560.

What a groomer watches for
- Mats that start at the skin and don't show on top
- Tear and mouth staining on the white coat
- Slow drying: a damp undercoat can cause skin problems
- Ticks and fleas: common in South Africa, and easy to miss in a thick coat
